# The Font Library > A font manager for the Mac that finds fonts by what you are making. Free during the alpha, in a closed beta. The Font Library is a font manager for the Mac. It keeps the fonts you own in one library, turns them on when an app needs them, and finds them by what you are making: describe the job, a wine label or a museum's signs or a quiet book, and it sets the families that fit, yours first. It is for people who choose type for a living: identity designers, art directors, studios that own more fonts than anyone remembers. People who judge a typeface by how it sets, not by its name. It is free while it is in alpha. The beta is closed: join the list and we let people in a few at a time, by email. Your fonts, your library and your searches stay on your Mac. ## Pages - [Home](https://fontlibrary.app/): the pitch, the join form for the closed beta, and the paragraphs above - [Privacy](https://fontlibrary.app/privacy): what the app, the site and the server collect, and how to have it deleted - [Download](https://github.com/mittnavnermike/the-font-library-releases/releases/latest): signed and notarised DMGs for Apple silicon and Intel; the app asks for an invited account at first launch
